Poor check on investments among the students’ unions in Lund
The students’ union at the faculty of Engineering has invested in funds that own shares in the tobacco-, weapon- and oil industries. The inspection made by Lundagård shows that few students’ unions in Lund have any ethical guidelines for placing students’ money.

Few places on courses in Swedish
The number of exchange students at Lund University has almost doubled in the last ten years.
But the number of places on the Swedish courses has stayed the same.
– I would have appreciated further studies at university level to be able to learn the language, says student Lukas Gwardak.

Helsingborg is more supportive of students than Lund
Fourteen times as much money for student activities. Four times as many employees that take care of students. A completely different attitude. As a student at Lund University you can study in either Lund or the neighbour city Helsingborg – and the municipality of Helsingborg is a long way ahead of Lund.

Graduating on time should pay of
A new study suggests a discount on your student loan if you finish your studies on time.
The purpose is to shorten the time of study for Swedish students. Similar systems are already up and running in Finland and Norway.

One semester in Lund
Every year, around 1 400 exchange students come to Lund University. Australian Fiona Soper was one of them. Lundagård followed her six month stay in Sweden. (front page)

Plans to merge parts of University of Industrial Arts with University of Technology and Helsinki school of economics worry at the University of Helsinki. Academics and administration on technological fields of study fear that the new so called innovation University would be able to attract all the best students and researchers. It would also make big changes to the research funding available to Helsinki University.
